Wildfire Awareness Hike

Wildfire season is upon us. Join us for a BLM Ranger Talk and a 2-mile wildfire preparedness hike with CSU on the Yellow Knolls Trail to see impacts of the 2020 Lava Ridge Fire and learn what you can do to prevent human-caused fires in 2022. The Yellow Knolls Hike is rated moderate. Expect temperatures in the mid to high 80’s while hiking and a cumulative elevation gain of 440 feet. Read more about the trail here.

Each hiker must bring at least 1 liter of water per 2 hours outside. Bringing salty snacks to maintain electrolyte balance is encouraged.

Please wear sunscreen, a hat and clothing that will protect you from the sun. Close-toed hiking shoes recommended.
