Joshua Tree Restoration Watering
September 2, 2023 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am
Help water a restoration grove of Joshua trees in the Beaver Dam Wash National Conservation Area! Meeting location and exact time will be shared when you sign-up at this link.
You will be providing supplemental water to 56 Joshua trees and prickly pear cactus transplanted into a Beaver Dam Wash fire scar.
This event may require driving your vehicle about 65 miles roundtrip from the St George area; 5 miles will be over a graded dirt road off of old Highway 91, but carpooling is usually an option. See sign-up link for more details.
This project takes about 3 hours including driving time (1.5-2 hours total driving time; 1-1.5 hours watering on site).
Note: This will be a recurring opportunity every week in August and September since summer rainfall has been weak. Please sign up for the dates you are available. It works best for a crew of 3 people; one to fill buckets with a hose from a water bladder, and 2 others to haul them to the plants up to 25 yards away.
