Timeline for the Northern Corridor Highway Draft EIS

 

June 12, 2020 – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) released the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Northern Corridor Highway and a 90-day public comment period opened. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service released the draft Habitat Conservation Plan for public comment during the same window.

July 16, 2020, 3:30-5:00 p.m. (MDT) Northern Corridor Highway virtual meeting organized by BLM and USFWS. Registration required.

July 21, 2020, 5:00-6:30 p.m. (MDT) Northern Corridor Highway virtual meeting organized by BLM and USFWS. Registration required.

Sept 10, 2020 – Draft EIS Comment Period closes.

Late Fall 2020 – Final EIS is published in the Federal Register.

Winter 2020 – The Governor’s Consistency Review and Protest Period begins. There is a 30-day time frame for anyone to formally protest the Final EIS. The Governor will have up to 60 days to review the Final EIS and identify any areas of inconsistency with state laws and regulations.

January 2021 – BLM issues the Record of Decision on whether to grant the right of way for the Northern Corridor Highway.
