Citizens for Dixie’s Future, our name for the first 10 years of our existence, didn’t very clearly define who we are. Yes, we are indeed citizens working toward a vision of the future for southwest Utah, known locally as Dixie for the early pioneer efforts to grown cotton. But there are many visions for Dixie’s future, and we have a particular one. And people outside our area or new to our area have no idea of the meaning of “Dixie”. So, we wanted to be clear: our vision of the future applies to Southwest Utah, (and adjoining areas that share the same environment, where the Colorado Plateau, the Great Basin and the Mohave Desert converge), and that vision is one in which our natural and cultural resources are conserved while the area grows, guided by a Smart Growth policy. Hence, Conserve Southwest Utah. Please join us.
