The Pioneer Park Picnic Shelter/Pavilion is accessed from Red Hills Parkway by turning into the Red Hills Desert Garden.  Upon entry to the Garden, immediately turn left (west) to head toward the “Dixie Rock”, paved parking lot and restrooms. The Pavilion/Picnic Shelter is located west of the parking lot. If the paved lot is full, look for extra parking in the gravel lot to the east. Please note that overflow parking on Red Hills Parkway is strictly prohibited. Parking in the overflow lots on the south side of Red Hills Parkway is not encouraged. It is extremely dangerous crossing Red Hills Parkway on foot!
