About The Event
Calling physically capable volunteers to help get ahead of a growing Sahara mustard problem in the Cougar Cliffs Backcountry. Recent warm weather and moisture have caused early germination of Sahara mustard. The weeds are currently in their tiny rosette stage and can be pulled and left to dry on the ground—a much easier task than bagging mature plants later. The more we can get out of the ground at this early stage on April 5, will mean that we won't have as many to pull, bag, and haul out on April 29 & 30.
There are 3 dates for this volunteer opportunity. We’re aiming for a 10–15 person crew each day. Please sign up for as many days as you’re available. Stewardship Coordinator Fred Armstrong will confirm your spot and share the exact meeting location on SR-18.
Meeting Point: BlackRocks Climbing Area - park in the dirt shoulder off the west side…
