National Public Lands Day Projects
September 28 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
This year CSU is providing support to the Bureau of Land Management and the National Park Service on two separate projects. The BLM project will focus on conservation of habitat for the federally endangered Dwarf Bearclaw Poppy. We will be pulling and bagging non-native tumbleweeds that compete for space and water, and hauling out items deliberately dumped by persons with no land ethics. The NPS project will be at Zion National Park at their native plant growing grounds pulling weeds to prepare for next season and possibly planting native plants on a site needing human impact restoration. Participants should bring and wear leather gloves and sun protection for either project. Meeting/carpool location and more details to come. Contact fred@conserveswu.org
