National Public Lands Day Projects

This year CSU is providing support to Zion National Park along the banks of the Virgin River.  Straw erosion control wattles have done their job, but the straw has now decomposed leaving non-biodegradable plastic netting on the landscape.  These plastic nets entangle small wildlife.  CSU will remove the netting for habitat restoration.  Participants should bring and wear leather gloves, sun protection and water.  Snacks and lunch will be provided. Carpools leave Washington at 7:00 am, and LaVerkin at 7:30 am.  You must register for this event to participate at https://forms.gle/NtJXcCB5C7qCvxVF7 due to restricted access to the project site.  Contact fred@conserveswu.org
